Exams and Quizzes :

EXAMS: Three 75-min exams (100 points each) and one comprehensive final exam (200 points) will be given on the dates specified in the attached schedule and will be in our classroom.  There will be no make-up exams. Extraordinary circumstances (death, hospitalization, etc.) will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and evidence must be provided. If you must miss an exam due to a scheduled university function (athletic event, etc.), the instructor must be notified at least two weeks before the exam date.  An alternative exam will only be given prior to the scheduled exam date.  Absolutely no make up exams will be given after a scheduled exam date

The exam questions will NOT be multiple-choice type; you have to come up with the answers.

QUIZZES: Five short quizzes (20 points, 15 min.) will be given during the course.  The dates will be announced in class and on blackboard beforehand.  Under no circumstances will there be any makeup quizzes.  The quizzes will consist of multiple-choice type questions.  Quiz answers will be posted on the class website.

PRS:

Personal response system (PRS) will be used in this course.  3-4 multiple choice questions will be tested in each class.  You will get 3 points for each question that you answer correctly; otherwise, you will get 1 point for participation.  At the end of the course, your total points from PRS tests will contribute to 10% towards your final grade.

Each of you need to buy a PRS transmitter from Varsity Mart and register yourself to the system.  The website to register yourself is http://www.ndsu.nodak.edu/prsreg.  You can find more information about PRS at this website:   http://www.its.ndsu.edu/instruction_and_research/prs/student_resources
